Mandela National Stadium often referred to as Namboole Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It is currently used mostly for football matches, although other sports are also practiced. The stadium has a capacity of 40,202 people. The stadium was built with a grant of $36 million dollars from the People’s Republic of China. The 40,202 capacity sports complex was built with a $36m Chinese government grant and opened in 1997.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure that bank accounts and the cash books are reconcile on a monthly basis
· Responsible for ensuring that all expenditure vouchers are properly authorized
· In charge of the preparation of journal entries
· Responsible for updating all accounts and reconcile them to the General Ledger
· Ensure reconciliation of manual records of the debtors, contingency and all liability accounts to the computer records, and follow up.
· Actively participate in the preparation of periodic accounts and reports
· Render support in updating the Assets register
· Follow up on the unaccounted for funds by staff
· Ensuring proper classification of transactions as assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
· Preparing the payroll.
· Carry out bank reconciliation and cash flow statements.
· Stock taking of assets.
· Charged with stock verification and internal control.
· Perform any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time by the Accountant.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should preferably hold a Degree in Business Administration Degree, B.Com, BAF (Majoring in Accounting) or its equivalent
· Possession of partial professional qualification in ACCA or CPA will be an added advantage.
· A minimum of two years’ experience and above.
