customer care, One rate to all networks, Fax and Data, Call forwarding, Per

Uganda. Our customer base has grown tremendously – so has our coverage – and

our service quality is unsurpassed in the market.


Job Summary:  The Engineer, IN Planning & Support develops

and provide planning/ design of the IN network capacity, features and services.

Plans High Level Bill of Quantity for design & planning and works towards

planning Network Change Plan


Key Duties and Responsibilities:  


·        
Co-ordinate and provide planning and control of

initiatives, investment, capacity expansion of the core network nodes


·        
Build and enhance tools for traffic and Network

Element calculation


·        
The incumbent will also monitor end to end

utilisation to provide forecasts aimed at providing head room to control route

congestion.


·        
Set-up and monitor Key Input & Output KPIs for

IN networks


·        
Ensure planning for 99.99% reliability and

redundancy in the IN network; Institute a robust quality improvement plan as

well as a Business Continuity Plan


·        
Deliver a long-term Network Deployment strategy with

the objective of improving Capex Productivity, introducing new technology &

best service quality provider with most cost efficient design in the world


·        
The incumbent will also provide Quarterly

NCP(Network change plan ) including the any design changes forecasted on the

core network


·        
Support the Governance of the core Network changes


·        
Evaluation of Network and Service implications prior

integration of new Circuit switches, extensions on core nodes or node service

releases


·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Networks

Service Head


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  


·        
The Airtel Engineer, IN Planning & Support

should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics / IT / Computer

Sciences / Telecommunications or equivalent


·        
At least five years of related experience in the

Telecommunications sector in relevant field of design & planning


·        
Broad working knowledge of system architecture,

Optimization and/or O&M.


·        
Past experience on IN network planning and in

designing IN system architecture.


·        
Previous experience and proficiency in real-time

charging, policy management, customer relationship management, mediation &

provisioning system (preferably Ericsson & Huawei systems)


·        
Broad knowledge and understanding of operational and

maintenance issues related to IN systems.


·        
Able to operate in a performance driven organization


·        
Billing & Charging domain expert


·        
Strong planning & design skills and problem

solving skills


·        
Excellent analytical skills


·        
Business awareness


·        
High personal standards and goal oriented, high

motivation


·        
Excellent interpersonal skills


·        
Good and effective communications skills, both

orally and in writing
