GiveDirectly is

an international non-profit organization that currently operating in Kenya and

Uganda that aims to help people living in extreme poverty by making

unconditional cash transfers to them via mobile phone.

Job Summary:  The Finance Director will manage all financial

and accounting operations for East African offices, currently including Kenya,

Uganda, and Rwanda. The incumbent will be tasked with minimizing fraud while

defining and monitoring control processes governing $25+ million in spend.  The Finance Director will manage a team of

three in-country finance managers, and conduct closing process and audits for

the region. 

Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 

·        
The ideal candidate must hold a minimum of five years’

experience which should include executing accounting and/or audit processes

with progressive levels of responsibility.

·        
Applicants with CPA, and management experience will

have an added advantage

·        
Possess excellent communication skills

·        
The applicant must also be comfortable in a

meritocratic environment with frank, honest feedback. 

·        
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time between

East African and US offices.
