Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological

College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker Theological College

trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The

local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.

International partnerships were part of the College’s missionary history. The

Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and others to assure the

College had the necessary intellectual and other capital. By the late 1990s,

the Church of Uganda sought to have a broader impact on society through the

higher education – not only of clergy but of other professionals as well.

Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.


Job Summary: The Laboratory

Attendant will support the Network Administrator in managing the ICT

infrastructure at the College.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Offer ICT infrastructure support to all BBUC users


·        
In charge of carrying out preventive maintenance

work on all BBUC computer equipment and other electronic office equipment


·        
Responsible for managing technical records according

to the best maintenance practices and providing timely information to the

Network administrator on support work and spare usage.


·        
Providing information for effective support and

maintenance planning


·        
Render support in any ICT related installation work

as may be required from time to time


·        
Ensure timely opening and closure of IT lab

according to designated times


·        
Ensures that only authorised students use the

computer laboratories


·        
Perform any other official duties that may be

assigned by the Network Administrator.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate for the Laboratory Attendant

vacancy must hold a Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Sciences from

a recognised accredited institution of higher learning.


·        
A minimum of two years working experience in a

similar position


·        
The applicant must be a person of high integrity,

self motivated and resourceful


·        
Ability to work under little or no supervision


·        
Excellent interpersonal skills especially when

dealing with students, staff and visitors,


·        
Must be a committed and mature Christian.
