around the world.


Job Summary: The Data

Officer, Air Device will support Save the Children by ensuring and maintaining

an accurate and up to date project data base of data on effectiveness of

Newborn Resuscitation and MNH activities in target facilities, including

providing training and ongoing support for project and partner staff to ensure

timely and quality data collection and reporting; participation in production

of project periodic reports, compiling project progress performance reports

against set targets. The position holder may also be called upon as and when

necessary to provide support in humanitarian responses.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Data

Officer, Air Device job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer

sciences, or statistics or records and archives management.  Additional training in biostatistics or

professional data management courses, MIS and DHIS2, is an added advantage


·        
A minimum of two years’ experience in conducting

Research work in health related programming in Uganda (preferably with an

International or national NGO).


·        
Extensive knowledge of research methods and ethical

procedures.


·        
Previous experience in conducting interviews in a

research setting with quantitative and Qualitative data collection preferred.


·        
Prior experience in working with District Local

Government on health programs with a focus improving reporting for HMIS using

DHIS2


·        
Prior experience in research methods, data

collection and analysis.


·        
Past exposure and experience of working with local

partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health,

Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.


·        
Excellent analytical skills and strategic planning

abilities.


·        
Ability to establish and maintain conducive

collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.


·        
Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills

are a must.


·        
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to

work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds

and cultures.


·        
Ability to intervene with crisis management or

troubleshooting as necessary.


·        
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

including influencing, negotiation and coaching.


·        
Excellent time management and planning capacity.


·        
Availability and willingness to work extra hours

during times of humanitarian responses.


·        
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach

areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
