Management Institute (UMI) is a management development institution with a

mission “To Excel in Developing Practical and Sustainable Administration,

Leadership and Management Capacity.” It provides management training,

consultancy and research services in response to the demands of the public,

private and NGO sectors. In addition to short performance improvement

management skills development courses, the Institute offers high quality career

development management courses at Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma

and Higher Degree Levels.


Job Summary: The Internal

Auditor will be tasked with verifying and guiding UMI Managers on the use of

Internal Control Systems that will enable them to effectively utilize available

resources.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
In charge of the maintenance of adequate Internal

Control Systems


·        
Ensure value for money audits


·        
Prepare and submit proper and timely audit reports


·        
Support staff in their work to produce timely reports

for audit;


·        
Support managers to implement Departmental Internal

Control Systems


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an Honors

(Hons) Degree in B.Com (Accounting) or BBA (Accounting) or related qualification;


·        
Applicants with professional qualifications i.e. ACCA

II or CPA II will have an added advantage;


·        
At least three years’ experience in a related field

gained with a reputable organization(s);


·        
Prior exposure and experience with an Audit firm is

an added advantage;


·        
Competence in computer-based accounting systems, preferably

Navision Financials;


·        
Self-motivation with keen interest to detail,

meeting tight deadlines and ability to work with minimum supervision;


·        
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, team building

and analytical skills
