services in Uganda with international links to all major postal administrations

worldwide.


Job Summary: The Manager,

Estates will oversee the estates maintenance function, ensuring that the

buildings, engineering systems and grounds are safe, well maintained, fit for

purpose, available for their intended use within budget resulting into a

positive staff, tenant and general public experience. The incumbent will achieve

Estates revenue targets while leading the Estates team in providing high

quality and responsive maintenance and managing short and long-term planned

maintenance activity.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
The job holder will plan, manage, monitor and

coordinate all maintenance activities (building and engineering) with

appropriate arrangements in place for the delivery of responsive and effective estates

services including ‘out of hours’ on-call and emergency contingency plans in

support of Posta Uganda activities.


·        
The incumbent will also identify, cost, plan and

execute short term and long term maintenance programs for all company buildings

in a timely, affordable and efficient manner.


·        
Mentor and lead Estates staff while optimizing team

spirit and teamwork.


·        
Ensure that the Estates Revenue Budget is achieved

and that the related collections are realized in a timely manner.


·        
Generate, update and maintain records on all company

premises, both owned and rented throughout the country.


·        
Prepare and submit monthly reports on buildings and

physical assets, all tenants and rental collections status.


·        
Generate and provide information necessary to facilitate

the planning for and management of all buildings in order to increase rental

income for the company.


·        
Work in liaison with relevant officers that the

appropriate insurance policies for the company properties are in place and

up-to-date.


·        
Research and recommend rent rates for company

premises at various locations throughout the country, in line with prevailing

market rates


·        
Manage contractors and related activities within the

assigned budgets and available funds.


·        
Ensure           

that maintenance works meet safety standards, statutory compliance and that

activities are carried out in the most cost effective and efficient way within

allocated budgets.


·        
Take overall responsibility for matters affecting

the Company’s physical environment.


·        
Be available on call to attend to emergencies

pertaining to the Estates function.


·        
Perform any other duty as may be required from time

to time within the Company framework


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant must hold a good Bachelor’s degree in

Civil Engineering


·        
Possession of additional qualification in

Estates/Facilities Management will be an added advantage


·        
At least five years of related post qualification

working experience in property management, two (2) of which must have been at

Managerial level in a reputable organization.


·        
Excellent negotiation and communication skills


·        
Excellent computer knowledge


·        
Complete knowledge on Uganda’s area demarcation


·        
Good report writing skills


·        
Creativity and innovativeness
