Healthcare Federation (UHF) is an ‘association of associations’ umbrella
organization representing the interests of the private health sector in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Quality Officer will manage the quality
improvement system that aims to support basic healthcare providers in
resource-restricted settings to go through stepwise structured improvement
programs, to deliver safe and quality-secured care to their patients, according
internationally recognized standards.)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take part in conducting quality standards
assessments including capturing and reviewing the assessment data and
reporting; - Coordinate and work closely with stakeholders
to ensure timely implementation of planned activities - Offer technical support in the development of
quality improvement plans for the health facilities - Regular monitoring of progress towards
achieving j the planned quality improvement activities and providing
technical support to facilities - Take part in the training and mentoring of
facilitators, provision of training on quality improvement and technical
assistance to facilities - Responsible for managing, archiving of
assessment data and the assessment certification process
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the Quality Officer jobs
should hold Degrees in health related field e.g. Medicine, Nursing,
Laboratory, Pharmacy or any related science from a recognized institution.
Possession of a postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage - At least three years’ field experience
working at a Hospital or Clinic - Broad working knowledge of the Health system
in the country including the private sector - Proven skills on the concepts of quality
improvement approaches in health care - Computer literacy skills including use of
Microsoft office suite, database interactions and web applications - Capable of interacting professionally and
constructively with different levels of the facilities in the national
health system - Possess good interpersonal and team-building
skills, ability to work effectively with different levels of professional
cadres - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
in English is mandatory, local languages an advantage - Self driven, initiative taking
professionalism is an asset for this position - Demonstrated ability and willingness to
travel covering all regions of Uganda and work in challenging environment
for long periods, occasionally over the weekend and evenings, experience
an advantage. - Possession of coaching and mentoring
experience is an added advantage
