Corporate Strategy Officer – Kampala – Uganda National Roads Authority


About UNRA:
The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament; The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on 1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.


Job Summary: The Corporate Strategy Officer’s primary role is to coordinate the implementation of sustainable and approved UNRA strategies across all directorates, carry out research and business intelligence, monitor long-term trends driving cross-functional initiatives, and generating reports in line with the UNRA strategic plan and objectives.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will coordinate the Strategic planning content development in the respective directorates of the Authority in line with the strategic Planning process guidelines and framework;
Coordination of cross business unit initiatives in the directorates;
Responsible for the monitoring the deployment and execution of the strategic plan in the respective directorates and generating relevant reports;
Responsible for the identification and execution of cost improvement opportunities across directorates;
Keenly review and evaluate the implementation of the quality management system frameworks in the directorates;
Coordinate the quarterly and bi-annual reports generation from directorates on the achievements per quarter for effective feedback to the Ministerial Policy Statement Reviews;
Compile information on long term trends and outlook analysis to provide input into the strategic plan review sessions.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Corporate Strategy Management


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the UNRA Corporate Strategy Officer job vacancy should hold an Honor’s Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field;
Possession of any other post graduate qualifications in the relevant field are an added advantage;
At least three years’ experience in a professional corporate and highly reputable organization;
Previous experience in practicing monitoring and evaluation;
Demonstrated practical experience in executive coaching is an added advantage;
Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills is a must;
Direct exposure with top management levels is an added advantage;
Impeccable level of integrity;
Proven track record of outstanding performance;
Broad knowledge and understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills to develop colleagues and subordinates;
Excellent interpersonal, particularly staff/management relations skills;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Ability to produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
Computer literacy skills
Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into common, understandable language.
