Kyambogo
University is the second largest Public University in Uganda. Since its
formation in 2003, the University has established itself as one of the leading
Universities in Uganda offering a number of academic programmes in line with
vocational education, teacher training, hands-on engineering, special needs
training, social sciences, pure and applied sciences, entrepreneurship and
management that meet the Market remands and development needs of the Country.
The Strategic Focus Areas of the University include: Teaching Learning;
Research, Innovation and Knowledge Generation; Physical Infrastructure,
Facilities and ICT Development; Institutional Development and Strategic
Marketing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Custodian will ensure that all University property in
the Faculty or Department is safe and kept in the right place. - Open doors/windows and lock lecturer rooms,
laboratories and offices after lectures on time. - Ensure that all premises and installations in
the Faculty/Department are kept clean and in good working condition. - Manage sanitary cleaners and office
attendants deployed at the Department/ Faculty. - Regularly report breakages of equipment,
furniture and other installations in the Faculty or Department to the
Senior Custodian and the Dean of Faculty or Head of Department, or the
officer responsible for maintenance and repairs. - Custody and ensure repair of public address
system, overhead, slide and LCD projectors. - Perform any other duty that may be assigned
from time o time by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the Custodian
vacancies must possess an Advanced level certificate (UACE) with at least
one principal pass or an equivalent qualification. - Additional relevant certificate in Management
will be an added advantage. - At least one year working experience in a
reputable organization. - Computer literacy skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- High degree of integrity is a must.
All
