The
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
Job Summary: The Land Acquisition Officer will be responsible
for verification of valued Project Affected Persons, compiling and processing
the documentation for the payment of land and property compensations and
grievance management and providing feedback to the community. In addition the
Land Acquisition Officer will also be responsible for maintaining proper
records that can easily be retrieved as and when required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the UNRA approved stakeholder
communication strategy with regard to project affected persons; - Regularly respond to audit reports and
implement agreed recommendations within specified time frames; - Actively participate in the compilation of
the market values of land across the country and generate reports on
compensation details of Project affected persons along roads assigned; - Keenly verify and process payment for Land and
Property compensation in line with approved valuation report and strip
map; - Implement the grievance/complaints management
framework; - Develop risk matrix and put in place risk
mitigation measures on land acquisition process. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the
Head Financial Audit
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the UNRA Land Acquisition
Officer job vacancy should hold an Honors Degree in Social Sciences, Business
Administration, Finance, Land Economics or any other relevant
qualification; - Possession of Post Graduate qualifications in
relevant field will be an added advantage; - At least three years’ experience in
infrastructure projects; - Demonstrated working experience in a large
organization/business unit with diverse professions. - Computer literacy skills
- High degree of integrity;
- Excellent track record of outstanding
performance; - Ability to work as part of a team;
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relation skills - Ability to deliver accurate results in a timely
manner and in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
