The
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
Job Summary: The Supplies Officer will be in charge of receiving,
recording, storing and
delivery
of UNRA consumable and other similar items. This will include: unpacking, checking,
labeling, splitting, storing and issuing all stock and other related items. The
Officer will also perform continuous update of the stock ledgers, bin-cards and
regular stock taking; maintain all stock and other items stored in the store in
an organised, tidy and safe manner as well as provide assistance and advice to management
and staff regarding supplies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routinely receive and inspect all goods
delivered, prepare GRN and update inventory records; - Ensure the stores facility are in proper
working order; - Receive stores requisitions and issue /
dispatch goods to user; - Dispose off undesired or obsolete goods in
accordance with PPDA law and regulations, and organisational disposal
procedures; - Prepare for the annual stock and other taking
exercises; - Quickly respond to audit reports and implement
agreed recommendations within specified time frames; - Develop risk matrix and put in place risk
mitigation measures in the management of supplies at UNRA; - Actively participate in planning, budgeting
and reporting in line with departmental guidelines and targets. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the UNRA Supplies Officer
job opportunity should hold an Honors degree in Stores and Supply Chain
management, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or any other
relevant degree from a recognized University; - At least three years’ experience in stores
and supplies management in a large organization. - Computer literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and to
develop subordinates; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly staff/management
relation skills - Excellent oral and written communication
skills. - Excellent customer service;
- High level of Integrity.
