Reports to: Manager Land Survey
The
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
Job Summary: The Surveyor will be responsible for the
execution of topographic surveys, digital mapping, data processing and
analysis. The incumbent will also be responsible for
quality
control of data collection, setting out and verification of construction works.
In addition, the Surveyor will be responsible for quality assurance of the survey
process as well as survey records and reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare survey guidelines, procedures and
quality assurance processes in line with standards and best practice; - Conduct topographic, hydrographic and
cadastral surveys for design purposes and set out road alignment in line
with the final approved engineering project designs and generate reports; - Actively monitor the quality control of
surveys, mapping and monument/survey beacons - preservation;
- Capture geo-spatial data for design,
construction and decision making; - Develop risk matrix and put in place risk
mitigation measures in survey projects. - Respond to audit reports and implement agreed
recommendations within specified time frames; - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager
Land Survey
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the UNRA Surveyor job
vacancy should hold an Honors Degree in Surveying; - Professional registration with the relevant
Association of professional surveyors will be an advantage; - Possession of a Post Graduate qualifications
in surveys or other relevant field will be an added advantage; - At least three years’ experience in
surveying; - Previous experience in engineering and
cadastral surveys and digital mapping. - High degree of integrity;
- Excellent track record of outstanding
performance; - Ability to work as part of a team;
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relation skills - Ability to deliver accurate results in a
timely manner and in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
