Associates is a Professional Services Firm that provides Financial Consultancy
Services including Assurance and Business Advisory Services, Business Planning,
Feasibility studies & Project Proposal Preparation, Human Resource, Risk
Management and Information System Solutions. They would like to recruit for a
valuable client, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) specializing in
Developing Young Leaders and Entrepreneurship in Africa with offices in Uganda
and USA.
Job Summary: The Finance Manager will support the NGO in achieving
its four main objectives: Financial Management, Annual Strategic Planning, Leadership
& Staff development and Auditing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial
statements and management reports according to international Accounting standards
and NGO Finance manual; - Manage daily operational financial
transactions and close off month end processes (accruals, prepayments,
creating and posting Journals, reconciliations of accounting system
modules/subsidiary ledgers, GL adjustments, Balance sheet reconciliation
and attestation, Bank reconciliations among others) - Manage the procurement, inventory, and petty
cash management; - Oversee HR Manager payroll processing and
remittance of statutory deductions; - Design and manage structures for processing
of program fees; - In charge of the design and manage the annual
budgeting and forecasting process for all departments and programs
including expenses analysis and training of - staff;
- Provide leadership and guidance to the
organization on efficient finance practices as well as train staff where
appropriate; - Coordinate internal and external audits and
implement audit recommendations;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager
career opportunity should preferably hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree and
full or part professional qualification - At least three years’ relevant work
experience. - Computer literacy i.e. experience with Quick
books. - Working knowledge or experience in managing
grant income. - Exemplifies the NGO Culture—only solves a

experience drives everything you do, exceeds expectations in your work. - High personal integrity and financial ethics.
- Can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to be a trainer of
trainers – to coach, advise and train team members in finance procedures. - Strong organizational, writing and
communication skills, explaining clear expectations, having attention to
detail, and providing clear written communication in a timely manner.
