Kyambogo
University is the second largest Public University in Uganda. Since its
formation in 2003, the University has established itself as one of the leading
Universities in Uganda offering a number of academic programmes in line with
vocational education, teacher training, hands-on engineering, special needs
training, social sciences, pure and applied sciences, entrepreneurship and
management that meet the Market remands and development needs of the Country.
The Strategic Focus Areas of the University include: Teaching Learning;
Research, Innovation and Knowledge Generation; Physical Infrastructure, Facilities
and ICT Development; Institutional Development and Strategic Marketing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent drives University vehicle as
instructed by the Transport Officer. - Records the movement of the vehicle in the
Log Book - Keeps the vehicle clean and in sound working
state - Responsible for vehicle while on duty
- Keenly monitors the mechanical condition of
the vehicle and reports any faults/defects to ensure it is maintained in
good working conditions. - Regularly reports the vehicle’s next servicing
in time. - Performs any other duties assigned by the
supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the Driver vacancies
must have an O’ level Certificate with a valid driving permit with a
credit in English. - Possession of a certificate in Defensive Driving
will be an added advantage. - Applicants with multiple class driving
permits (including heavy vehicles) have an added advantage. - Working knowledge and skills in motor vehicle
mechanics will be an added advantage. - At least five years’ driving experience.
- High degree of integrity.
