The
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
Job Summary: The Ferry Attendant will render support in the
operation and maintenance of the ferry. The Ferry Attendant will also assist
the operator in directing the operation of the ferry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Render support in carrying out daily
diagnosis/assessment of the ferry using the standard - checklist;
- Assist in ensuring security of the ferry and
its component parts; - Secure passengers’ property while in transit;
- Ensure safety of passengers on the ferry;
- Ensure cleanliness of the ferry and landing;
- Carry out ferry docking procedures;
- Guide the loading and unloading of both
vehicle and passenger traffic. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Ferry
Operator
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the UNRA Ferry Attendant
job vacancy should hold a Part-2 Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or
Diploma is a business related course - Relevant Industrial Training Experience while
at the Institute/college is a must; - Working experience will be an added
advantage; - High degree of integrity;
- Excellent track record of outstanding
performance; - Ability to work as part of a team;
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relation skills - Ability to deliver accurate results in a timely
manner and in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
