Commercial Manager – Kampala – Data Care (Uganda) Limited

Job Summary: The Commercial Manager will be charged with the formulation, driving, measuring and management of the implementation of agreed initiatives that drive the growth and retention of clients through an optimal sales force for the purpose of achieving set/agreed revenue, share of wallet and cash flow goals. The incumbent will maintain quality service and excellent customer relations to the best industry bench marks.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts regular sales meetings with staff to review sales progress, maintains good employee relations to ensure the highest degree of morale and discipline and provides results driven leadership.
Execute an effective growth and retention strategy of clients for data care in line with the company goals and ambitions.
Perform an effective proactive liaison role at appropriate levels between relevant stakeholders (e.g. credit shared services, system developers and ensure customer service expectations are fully met.
Responsible for the achievement of financial and non-financial targets for the business
Continuously source relevant information on industry and client trends with a view of proactively meeting their needs through data care resources and assets.
Devise strategies and tactics to grow our share of industry wallet to match our ambitions and strategic goals.
Measures, track and manages sales targets and budgets of the company
Carries out regular client list review, continuously update client information and discusses with sales executives their daily plans, gives them guidelines and where necessary accompany them on sales trips.
Maintains sales contacts with appropriate representatives of clients and potential clients and ensures follow-up and amicable resolution of complaints/issues and keeps the MD informed.
Identifies new ideas for development of Direct Sales, discuss them with the MD/CTO and plans for their implementation through Sales team.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Basic University business degree
Possession of a Post graduate diploma in IT / sales and marketing are critical added advantage
A minimum of four to five years’ experience in FMCG sales and preferably with best practice benchmarks
Good team leader, good mentor with the ability to train and develop subordinate staff
Possess excellent communication (oral & written and analytical skills)
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of IT and related services
Results oriented attitude
High personal integrity
Highly innovative and creative
High business acumen
